Things to Do in Oahu Hawaii

Arizona Memorial and USS Missouri
If you are interested in learning about Pearl Harbor or just want to see a little bit of history, take a tour at the Arizona Memorial and on the USS Missouri. The USS Missouri, also known as “Mighty Mo”, was the most used ship in American history. Individuals that tour this massive ship can take a look at missile turrets as well as the living quarters and walk the deck. In honor of Pearl Harbor, the Arizona Memorial was dedicated in 1962. There are also a variety of activities for the whole family including a canoe race, lessons on fire making and even a spear throwing contest. If you do visit the Polynesian Cultural Center, make sure you don’t plan any other activities for the day because there’s so much to do that you may just find yourself there for several hours.

Oahu’s North Shore
If beaches are you thing, then be sure to check out Oahu’s North Shore. The area consists of over 7 miles of beautiful beaches. Activities include water activities such as surfing and swimming. There are also numerous stores to shop at and many restaurants that feature the local cuisine. The exquisite Turtle Bay Resort has outstanding accommodations for guests that want to spend a night or two on Oahu’s North Shore.

Diamond Head
Diamond Head is the most recognized landmark in Hawaii. It features over 475 acres of land and rich history. Guests can take a hike or get a look at the ocean like they’ve never seen it before. There are also bunkers and a lighthouse that was built in 1971. During the winter months guests at Diamond Head may be able to see a humpback whale swimming by.
