There is no doubt that we will see some positive changes when cruising returns. From enhanced screening at the ports including temperature and possibly even rapid testing, to less guests onboard to allow for social distancing and enhanced cleaning & sanitation measures. Cruise lines are working closely with the CDC in order to ensure they take whatever measures necessary for cruising to resume safely.
Although cruises were supposed to start up again August 1st, 2020, we are finding that most Caribbean islands are not ready just yet. The Caribbean is allowing hotels to open gradually, but they have no yet prepared the cruise ports. Therefore, just yesterday, NCL suspended cruises through September. It is likely that Carnival Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises and other major cruise lines will make similar announcements in in the next few weeks.
As of this morning, here are the dates when cruises are supposed to resume. We will continue to update as more information becomes available.
