A Day in Nassau, Bahamas

A Day in Nassau, Bahamas

If you have been thinking of taking a trip this summer and want to spend some relaxing time close to the nature yet stay in touch with modern inventions, then it is high time you take a cruise to Nassau Bahamas! Why a cruise and why to Nassau Bahamas, you might wonder? Well here are all the reasons to convince you.

Soft golden sand beaches that touch aquamarine water encompass Paradise Island, the playground of the rich and famous.  View bustling straw markets, ladies braiding hair creating wearable artwork, policemen dressed in crisply starched jackets, enjoy duty free shopping and excellent cuisine highlighting conch & coconut.  Together this leaves a lasting impression of the beauty and ambiance of the Bahamas.

Cruising Lets You Sight-see

The thing about a cruise is that it allows you to take in all the breath taking sights of your travel. Unlike air travel, where the most you can see are specks of lights, a cruise trip allows you to experience the beauty of nature that surrounds the gorgeous Nassau Bahamas. Another great thing about a cruise is that you get to see many places in one go. There are also many activates that the efficient crew plans for you and you can either enjoy them or sight-see on your own.

A Little History

Before you decide to board your cruise ship, learn some of the history of Nassau Bahamas. It is the largest and the capital city of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It acts like a city district and is home to many judicial departments as well as the House of Assembly. It was a popular pirate hangout in the early 1700’s but was successfully captured by the British Capitan Woodes Rogers in 1718. The captain acted as Royal Governor and restored peace and civil administration on the island. It was in the 19th century that Nassau was urbanized.

The place holds special attraction for all those who are die hard James Bond, especially Sean Connery fans. The two films, Thunderball and Never Say Never Again were filmed on this serenely mysterious island.
